Marie Johnson was born April 28, 1967 in Georgetown, Kentucky. At the age
of 12, she began singing in her family bluegrass band, CountryBlu.
By the time she turned
the tender age of 20, someone told her, “country music is where
you ought to be”, so she loaded up her truck and she moved to Lexington….still
in the hills that is.
Singing in many country
bands such as, Cross Country, Jasper and Silverado, Carrie wrote and preformed
many of her songs along the way. This lead to a self -produced album called
“Aint That Love”. She sold her CD’s on the internet,
local book stores, and periodically, her mother’s yard sales, which
grossed the most income, I might add.
Jingle writing also
came into play in the mid 90’s. You may have been in your car or
watching late night television and heard Carrie’s voice singing
about cars, tires, big old trucks or ice cream.
Still, with all this,
Carrie knew her life was not complete, that is, until the day she received
a phone call. That’s right, a call from a guy she played music with
in Silverado. His name was Chuck Ritchie. She recognized the voice immediately,
“Carrie Marie, what a ya doin”?
So now it’s
been 8 years, and Carrie is beating the pavement once again, playing with
Chuck, Lee, Dano, Gregg and Bruce. Together they are the variety band
known as "2 Cool" .
Now Carrie sleeps
well at night, knowing her life is complete.
